Renewable Energy Systems

The process of designing a reliable photovoltaic system is not a trivial task.  To be successful, the this process requires discussions between you and our systems engineering staff to ensure the system is properly designed to meet your energy goals.

Our goal is to offer the industry's best renewable energy knowledge, service and products to our customers.  We understand that our clients want sustainable sources of energy, whether powering a remote house or telecommunication site, or powering a grid-tie system for your home or business.   Cascade Sun Works has gained vast experience in all areas of renewable energy technology with dedicated staff members continually improving the company to meet the needs of every client.

Cascade Sun Works has several pre-packaged systems available for immediate delivery and installation.  These systems all have one common thread - they are quality systems that meet Cascade Sun Works criteria.

Many components go into a "standalone" PV system, one which supports a load with no other power source.  At a minimum, such systems include a PV array, a storage battery, back up generator, required switchgear and a system control center.  The control system is particularly in situations where the load varies significantly from one day to another, and where the battery bank is to be protected against overcharge or overdischarge.

The products listed below are only a small sampling of the various components that we use to assemble high quality grid tied systems.

OutBack Power Systems

OutBack Power System’s mission is to be a leading manufacturer of power electronic products for renewable energy, back-up power and vehicle applications. The goals for OutBack Power Systems is to offer high value products with the best possible performance while operating reliably in severe environmental conditions.  OutBack Power System's goal is also to support our customers and their applications with an exceptional level of technical support and customer service.

OutBack Power Systems is an engineer-owned, customer focused, power systems equipment manufacturer located in Arlington, Washington. OutBack's engineers all have decades of power conversion design and equipment installation experience with a passion for leading the industry into a new era of balance of systems equipment performance, ease of use, and standardization.

Northern Lights
Land Based Generator Sets

For most applications, Cascade Sun Works recommends Diesel Generators by Northern Lights, sized for the load of the application.

These units are easy to install, maintain, and operate.  The units come with a self-venting fuel system, mounted control panel, safety shutdowns, and complete manuals.  All you do is hook up a battery, fuel and power leads. Then hit the start button. Out flows clean AC power that only a set with an automatic voltage regulator can produce. This AVR is powered by a special winding for better electric motor starting.

Cascade Sun Works packages a full line of both prime and standby diesel industrial sets. Complete custom engineering and fabrication is available for power modules, trailer units and more.

Kyocera

Kyocera solar modules are a reliable, virtually maintenance-free power supply designed to convert sunlight into electricity at the highest possible efficiency.

Kyocera's advanced cell-processing technology and automated production facilities produce highly efficient multi-crystal photovoltaic modules.  To protect the cells from the most severe environmental conditions, they are encapsulated between a tempered glass cover and an EVA pottant with a PVF back sheet.  The entire laminate is installed in an anodized aluminum frame for structural strength and ease of installation.

Isofoton

Isofoton was established in Malaga, Spain in 1981 to initiate the industrial manufacture of photovoltaic cells from silicon wafers, a project that was led by Professor Antonio Luque of the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

The products and applications developed by Isofoton represent real solutions to energy supply problems in more than 50 countries around the world where we have established a presence.

Batteries

Batteries are the reservoir of power in an alternate energy system. The right battery choice is important to ensure your power system performs properly, and that system life is maximized. We recommend deep-cycle batteries for all alternate energy power systems.  Quality industrial batteries offer longer life and better protection from abuse than low cost automotive batteries.  Batteries are the reservoir in a solar electric system.  The right choice of batteries is important to ensure your power system performs properly and to maximize battery life.

Various battery manufactures are used by Cascade Sun Works.  The selection of batteries is based on desired lifetime, type of service and budget.

Trojan L16 batteries are flooded lead-acid and built for uncompromising performance, reliability and value. These have been the batteries of choice for most stand-alone PV power systems.  The L16 batteries have integral lifting handles.

MK Batteries' SVR series of valve-regulated, sealed batteries is designed to offer reliable, maintenance free power, for renewable energy applications where frequent deep cycling is desired and minimum maintenance is required.

Surrette photovoltaic batteries offer exceptional performance, cycling ability and value.  Industry leading features and durability have resulted in their reputation as the best cycling battery in North America.  Easily configured for 12, 24 or 48 volt renewable energy and back-up power systems, the Surrette KS cells feature a 10 year warranty.
