Montessori School of Beaverton
In late 2003, the Energy
Trust of Oregon solicited proposals for demonstration projects
that would install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on public and
community buildings (including schools) in Portland General
Electric (PGE) and Pacific Power service territories.
The Montessori School of Beaverton was selected and will host a 6 kW roof-mounted system. Located west of Portland, the school is a highly visible site within a rapidly growing area. Aside from integrating the system into classroom learning, the school will conduct numerous community tours to further enhance the visibility of the project and demonstrate the viability of solar in Oregon. Expansion capability will be designed into the system. The installation was be a joint project between Cascade Sun Works and Inland Electric Incorporated.
The system consists of 36 Kyocera 167G PV Modules mounted on FastJacks and UniRac with two SMA 2500 Inverters.
