Radiant Floor, Heat Pump and Solar Hot Water

Cascade Sun Works, Inc. was the heating and solar contractor for this riverfront residence in Tumalo.  A radiant floor heating system furnishes heat to the first floor.  The master suite includes heating inside the shower as well as on the bath tub edges.  Second floor is heated with a Trane heat pump, both floors have Trane air conditioning.

The radiant floor heat source is from a Viessmann Vitodens condensing boiler through Wirsbo distribution manifolds.  Outdoor reset is accomplished with a three-way Viessmann mixing valve.  Cascade Sun Works designed and installed the full system.

The Solar Hot Water system is comprised of a Heliodyne Gobi 410 collector and an HP-16 heat exchanger coupled to an 80 gallon storage tank.  The storage tank has tank-tank recirculation to the 80 gallon high-efficiency A.O. Smith electric hot water heater.  This system qualified for the Energy Trust of Oregon Incentive Program as well as State of Oregon Solar Hot Water Tax Credit.
