Cascade Sun Works was selected by the Energy trust of Oregon to engineer and install a high efficiency hydronic heating/ventilation system and domestic hot water system for the New Columbia project in Portland. New Columbia occupies an 82-acre site where the Housing Authority of Portland Oregon undertook the development of a livable, mixed-income community that will enhance the quality of life of both its residents and of the adjacent Portsmouth neighborhood.
Cascade Sun Works installed a system combining Solar Hot Water Heating with a Tankless Hot Water Heater and a Lifebreath Clean Air Furnace/HRV. The benefits are 45% reduction in ongoing heating costs along with the comfort of fresh air circulation at a reasonable cost. Solar Domestic Hot Water is also supplied by this system.
