Energy Efficient Solar Heated Home

This Sunriver residence has a unique radiant floor/l/Lifebreath Clean air furnace integrated system driven by solar and a Viessmann boiler furnishing an unequalled heating and cooling system operating off of one control system.  Six Heliodyne Gobi collectors supply up to 240,000 btu’s per day of energy for use in heating the dwelling as well as hot water for domestic use. 

Solar hot water was used for both domestic hot water as well as radiant floor heating.  Cascade Sun Works of Redmond was the solar and HVAC contractor.  This unit is a fully integrated system incorporating heat exchange between the solar collectors and the potable water system, pumping, control and service functions all conveniently mounted in a small package by the hot water storage tanks.  320 gallons of hot water storage is supplied for the system.

Heating is based on a four zone radiant downstairs with a LifeBreath Clean Air Furnace upstairs.  Heat source is a propane Viessmann Boiler, air conditioning unit is a 14 SEER York.  1 1/2” Gypsum floor is by Ultra-Quiet Floors.
